Underworld: Awakening Movie Review

Reel Review: Underworld: Awakening (also known as Underworld 4) is a 2012 American 3D action horror film directed by Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein. It is the fourth installment in the Underworld film series, with Kate Beckinsale reprising her role as Selene. Sandrine Holt, Michael Ealy, and India Eisley appeared, in new roles to the series. It was released in Digital 3D, IMAX 3D and 2D theatres on January 20, 2012. What’s Inside: The vampire warrioress Selene, escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species. Wrapping It Up: A typical vampire of the future film but with some bloody action scenes. Kate Beckinsale’s “Selene” remains one-note and brings an impressive physicality and subzero cool to her portrayal of the lead character. Story wise, it is dull and lacking.
