POSTAL CHARGES TO BE CHANGED

Postal stamp charges to be doubled:
Telegram service to be scrapped:

Very soon our Postal Department is contemplating on restructuring the present stamp duty on postage. It is to be doubled. The Rs 5/- for a normal letter would be increased up to Rs 10/-.The Postal Department it is learnt that incur a sum of Rs 18/- to deliver a letter. The increase in Postal charges had not been made for a period of 5 years. It has been proposed to scrap the telegram service completely. These are confirmed reports from the Postal Department.
