HARENDRA RESIGNS FROM SWARNAVAHINI

Harendra Jayalal resigns from Swarnavahini as the present Administrative set up does not digest in his system:
Owing to extensive conflicts within the Swarnavahini Institution which had come to a blasting moment, with the resigning of the ‘Swarnavahini’s news producer renowned Harendra Jayalal on his own accord.
Owing to Harendra’s untiring efforts the Swarnavahini’s “Live@ 8 news telecast has reached to unprecedented heights. It is acclaimed as the best news bulletin among the TV channels in Sri Lanka. It occupied the top most position and won the award the best “News telecaster award at the last Sumathi Tele awards ceremony. Several other awards were also won at several other awards ceremonies. Owing to Harendra’s emphatic efforts he had become the most sought after person within the Swarnavahi Institution, as he is also involved in producing several other very popular programmes. It is reported that the nearest reason for tendering his resignation is that a new Management had pressurised him and not allowed to take his own views and decisions.
The entire administration was under the Edirisinghe brothers. Hitherto he had been under Jeevaka Edirisinghe. After a reshuffle in the Management he had to be under Asanka Edirisinghe.  According to the new Management Thushara Meemage had been made the new CEO. The nearest reason for his decision had been after a Management meeting that was held last Saturday. There had been differences of opinion and had ended in heated arguments. It had been told to Harendra that news should be read according to the instructions of the Head of Harendra’s unit and not at all according to his wishes. At the end of the meeting without much deliberation Harendra had decided to tender his resignation. It is learnt that during the past three months Harendra had requested to supply stationery and other office equipment needed for his staff. For which no response had been made. It is learnt that most members of staff had even to bring stationery like writing paper at their expense from home. Another reason for his resignation was for not fulfilling his request by the Management.
The daily Live@ 8 news bulletins and other programmes produced by renowned Harendra Jayalal had brought laurels to the Swarnavahini TV Channel. Owing to Harendra’s resignation the Swarnavahini had been shaken very badly. In addition 6 other producers and 16 cameramen also had submitted their resignations as well. It is also reported that after accepting the positions as Heads of various sections 23 of them too had resigned.
