SL house maid in Saudi Arabia says issue about her nationality has caused

A Sri Lankan house maid in Saudi Arabia says that an issue about her nationality has caused her to suffer harassment at her place of employment.

The housemaid Shanmugam Ganeshwari is a resident of the Kahawatte area in Rathnapura.



She told that she arrived in Saudi Arabia last November through a job agency in Maradana.Her mother has lodged a complaint on her daughter’s situation with the Foreign Employment Bureau on the 8th of this month.

When made an inquiry in this regard from the Foreign Employment Bureau a ranking officer

said an investigation will be launched into the incident.
