A dog story from Lakhsman Yapa:
An example of a dog’s story was told by Minister Lakhsman Yapa Abeywardane, regarding the incident at Tangalle, that the Government had been made to be ashamed owing to this incident involving its own Government officials:
The story he related at a Government’s news Department discussion on ‘News’.
“One day a dog had tried to go to Colombo had been forced to come back with blood stains on the body and with wounds. Those who saw the dog had made enquiries as to what happened. The dog had said there was no harm made to me by people. But I was harmed by my own kind”
Further to it he went on to say “Tangalle incident is not at all a simple one. What I could say is that all what had happened to the dog said, while on his way to Colombo. The blame that has come to the Government is from our own people. Today in villages and elsewhere there are problems from the Opposition parties and the JVP. All hindrances are from our own people,” he quipped.
