The Deputy DMO who wanted to get the post of DMO by poisoning the current DMO has disappeared.

The person who was ambitious to become the District Medical Officer had attempted to gain his position soon by killing the entire family of the current DMO by poisoning him and his family. This had been proved when investigations were carried out to find out about the poisoning of the water contained in the official residence water tank where DMO of Sevanagala, Dr Chaminda Vitharana, his pregnant wife and their two sons had lived. 
The relevant doctor had disappeared. However the labourer who has helped him in this exercise has been caught and  has been arrested and he is to be produced before the Embilipitiya Magistrate courts. 
The article written on “Rivira” paper in this regard is as follow:
Sevenagala Police since commencing investigations and was successful in arresting the person who has tried to kill the DMO of Sevanagala Dr. Chaminda Vitharana, his wife and his two sons by poisoning their water tank. 
As discovered so far, there have been several attempts made gradually over the last three months to kill the DMO by adding a poisonous substance to the water tank. 
In order to apprehend the suspected doctor, the police have raided his house at Sevanagala the day before yesterday (04th). Yet it has been revealed that the particular doctor has left the house and had vanished. At the same time according to a tip off, the police have taken information from the Embilipitiya hospital, yet the suspect has not been able to be located. 
Yesterday the police had got information that the suspect is absconding and moving from place to place to evade from the police. The labourer who has mixed poison to the water tank by following the orders, instructions and advice of the suspect has been caught, while on the act on  day before yesterday. The DMO had seen the labourer smelling the water after he has added poison to the tank. 
After questioning him, the DMO has suspected about schemes of action taken against him. Sevanagala Police have started investigations after the complaint. Chaminda Vithanage was working as the DMO of Sevanagala hospital. He is 30 years old. He is married to Kanchana Wanniarachchi who is a teacher. She too is 30 years old. She is  pregnant and she is three months pregnant. She is teaching at Embilipitiya President’s School. This couple has two boys; one is four and half years old and the other son just two and half years old. 
Dr. Chaminda Vitharana is from Matara District. He has come to Sevanagala hospital in the year 2005. He and his family had lived at the DMO quarters.  He is one of the famous medical officers in Sevanagala area. The whole area is clamoured at this news and the villagers have carried out a strong protest against  the attempt to add poison to the water the Doctors water attack at his official quarters. It is also reported that the villagers have assaulted the suspected Doctor on the 3rd. 
The arrested labourer has been close contact of the suspect. When he has been questioned by the police, he has revealed that he has added poison several times following the orders of the suspected doctor. This has been carried out for over 3 months. The DMO and his family have got sick several times. It is reported that this young doctor had fallen sick several times and had been under continuous treatment and his pregnant wife too had undergone a bad health condition similarly. 
As the police reveals the suspect has not tried to not poison the family at once as the suspects may have feared that this matter would come out. Therefore, they had planned to poison them at a slow pace, in stages. 
The labourer has confessed saying that the suspected doctor has promised to give him a promotion and at the same time he has promised a higher salary. 
The DMO and his family have left Sevanagala quarters for further treatment. The poison that has been used has not yet been still revealed.  The police believe without doubt that a conflict between the two doctors would have been the cause for it. 
The Officer-in- Charge of the Sevanagala Police Sevanagala Nilantha Bandara and Head of the Criminal Investigations Unit Police Inspector Rangajeewa are carrying out investigation under the supervision of Monaragala District Superintendent of  officer Lalith Gunawardana, and Assistant Superintendent of Police , Asoka Wijeratna.
Until the suspected labourer was produced before courts and was ordered to be remanded until the 9th .

Hirunika Premachandra to enter Politics

Hirunika starts her political career from Sri Lanka Mahajana party
and Renuka Perera descends from his career.

Hirunika Premachandra, the daughter of late Baratha Lakshman Premachandra says that she has decided to enter politics. She states that she took the membership of Sri Lanka Mahajana Party at its 28th anniversary meeting and according to a request from the party that she has decided to take its membership. According to the information she has had long discussions with the party leaders and it is also stated that she has been offered the party’s Assistant Secretary’s Post and the membership of the party board.  
It is also reported that after her arrival, one of the party’s strong and longstanding leader Renuka Perera has not attended the party’s 28th anniversary meeting and as a result of this his membership has been suspended.  
Renuka Perera who worked like a right hand of slain Baratha Lakshman was also dedicated to the work at the time of the funeral. Yet after Hirunika’a arrival to the party he has started to withdraw from party’s work.

YUVRAJ SINGH’S CANCER COULD BE CURED

Indian super cricketer all rounder Yuvraj Singh was taken to America last week for treatment for his cancer in the lung. However, the latest news today morning (5th) reveals that his condition could be totally cured. Yuvraj Singh was away from the team because he was facing a lot of ailments .Finally the doctors had diagnosed that he has acquired cancer in his lungs. This news of his illness had to be accepted like a terrible storm to the Indian Cricket world.
His doctors have stated, he is in the first stage of a cancer and thus it can be cured by an operation. The doctors believe that he will be fit to get back to playing cricket by June. 
It is reported that the ailed parts of his lung will be operated at the American hospital where he is been hospitalized at the moment.
It is learnt that there had been several sportsmen who too were detected in the early stages of cancer, all of them have been all cured after proper treatment and had commenced their careers without hassle.

MAHELA BECOMES A MILLIONAIRE IN IPL

was sold for the second highest bid –US Dollars 1.4 M 

The auction to select the players for teams of the Indian Premier League 2012 which is to be held in April was held in India yesterday.
Among 69 players who contested for the auction, 25 were sold at various stakes and Mahela was fetched for 1.4 million US $ , Thisara Perera for  US $ 650,000, Muttiah Muralitharan for US $220,000 and Dinsesh Chandimal was purchased for US$50,000 from Sri Lanka.
The cricketer who was sold for the highest bid was India’s own Ravindra Jadeja. He was purchased by the Chennai Super Kings for US $ 2 Million. Mahela was purchased by Delhi Daredevils for the second highest bid which was US $1.4 million. 
Among the cricketers from Sri Lanka  whose names were enlisted for the contest are Chamara Kapugedara, Chanaka Welagedara, Thilina Thushara ,Tilina Kandambi, Jeewan Mendis, Suranga Lakmal, Dhammika Prasad, Sekkuge Prasanna, Dilruwan Perera, Chaminda Eranga, Lahiru Thirumanna, Dimuth Karunaratna, Kaushal Silva, Kusal Perera and Sachithra Senanayake. They are yet to be selected. 
Even though Kumar Sangakkara, Lasith Malinga and Tilakaratna Dilshan did not contest for the auction, they will be playing for the IPL. They did not contest at the auction because they have signed a contract with their teams for more than a year. 
Since Pune Warriors are not playing the IPL the auction was very competitive for the players than it had been in the previous years. For the auction yesterday, the famous Bollywood actor Sharuk Khan, the franchise owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders team too participated.

A lot of rumours have spread around the country

“Husband was hospitalized due to an allergy” says Vas Gunawardana’s wife. 
Vas Gunawardana’a wife Shyamali Perera, has been interviewed by Divaina newapaper regarding the rumour s about the poisoning of Vaas Gunawardana. Even though the story of his hospitalization was true; she refutes the rumour which has spread saying that he was poisoned.
“Number of rumours has spread all over the country regarding my husband’s sickness. The real cause is that he has got allergic to his medicine. 
Because he suddenly got ill, his police officers have admitted him immediately. to the kurunegala General Hospital
Now he is getting better. I was not at home when he got sick. I came home around 6.30 P.M in the evening. Many rumours have spread all over the country about his sickness. That is the situation in this country. 
When my husband is released from the hospital, he needs a good rest. He is an honest officer who is dedicated to his duty. Our life has to face problems in our everyday life.”
Shyamali Perera was a former Police officer who was sentenced in 2009 for been accused for her assaulting a student in SLITT .known to her son who is presently studying abroad.

Piyumi's Mad Dog

Piyumi’s mother reveals that Piyumi was bitten by a real mad dog when Piyumi was a small girl.
Giving an interview to the “Sarasawiya” newspaper, the teledrama actresses, Piyumi’s mother  has made a number of special revelations about Piyumi.
 Two of them are that Piyumi was bitten by a mad dog when she was small and the other is that she has always hated to wear frocks.
This is what Piyumi’s mother has told about her.
Even when Piyumi was small, she was like a boy and we used to call her “malli”(little brother). She was in par with her brothers like a boy. Those days she only wore trousers, shirts, t-shirts and the only frock she wore was the school uniform.
At the same time, she was afraid of English. She had an aunt in Dubai. She waited impatiently for her aunt to come to Sri Lanka. One day, when her aunt had come to Sri Lanka, she had gone out and when she heard the news of her aunt’s arrival she came running to see her. When her aunt tried to welcome her calling her: “Hello baby, how are you?” Piyumi ran away. She behaved so because she was that afraid for English words.
Another mischievous thing she did was to hide the bags of the boys of the Dharmapala maha Vidyalaya. One day I went to the school and I got many complains saying that she has hidden bags right at the top of the Araliya trees so that the bags cannot be found. She was bitten by a mad dog when she was six years old. She was playing with a puppy near the edge of the road and in a little while the puppy bit her. We took her immediately to the doctor. I was so scared when I got to know that she was bitten by a mad dog.

SSP Vas Gunawardana suspected poisoning

Did he consume poison or had he been poisoned?

Senior Superintendent of Police  in Kurunegala,. Vas Gunawardena was
admitted to the hospital due to poisoning. The directress of Kurunegala hospital, Doctor D.M.S Rajamanthri stated that his condition is a bit serious and that he was sent to the Intensive Care Unit. She further stated that they are expecting for an improvement till the end of the day and if not that he will be sent to Colombo General Hospital.
Recently, there was a controversial incident about Vas Gunawardena which was of the story of his wife beating one of their son’s friends inhumanely..Vas Gunawardena has been alone at his quarters at Kurunegala when he happened to be poisoned ot drunk and his wife has been at their residence in Colombo. Their son has gone abroad for his higher studies.
It is stated that Vas Gunawardena was highly intoxicated and he had been lying unconscious on the floor and when he has started vomiting, his assistant officers have brought him to the hospital around 1 ‘O’ clock in the afternoon.
It is also stated that he has been highly intoxicated when he was hospitalized and he had been unable to move about. Due the fact that he was drunk, it has been difficult for the medical officers to come to the conclusion whether he had taken poison by mistake or whether he had poisoned himself.

BIRD FLU CASE REPORTED FROM BINGIRIYA

There is danger about Bird Flu. Authorities have disclosed last evening:

From Bingiriya in the Kurunegala district it has been reported that from a Birds (fowl) farm about 50 % had died suddenly without any reason. The Health Department Director General of Gannoruwa,W.K. de Silva had confirmed that it had been due to a type of influenza and is not due to acquiring of Bird flu. However the symptoms are similar to Bird’s flu.
To get confirmation and to have this matter resolved the related authorities of the Health Department have been summoned. They have advised the public and the owners of fowl farms not to get perturbed and alarmed over this situation.

THE REPORT MADE YESTERDAY:
The Health Department officials had however warned the consumers of chicken and eggs to boil well before consumption as a precautionary measure. The birds that had died have had similar fashion to that of Bird’s flu symptoms .Their advice too is to take precautionary measures and to be careful when eating chicken and eggs that have not beem properly boiled.
Investigation are been carried out to find the causes for these deaths, these are been carried out in Bird farms in Bingirira, Hettipola and Chilaw areas.
The bird flu is also known as H 5 Ni decease and that had caused the death of 50% fowls in this farm located at Bingiriya.

NEGOMBO “MANNA “ATTACK

Negombo Municipal Council Member was attacked by“Manna” on his way back after dropping daughter in school:
A Member of the Municipal Council, Negombo, Kapila Sulochana had been attacked by a “Cleaver” while he was returning back after dropping his daughter at school, by two persons riding a Motor Cycle yesterday.
One had attacked him to chop his neck with a cleaver and Kapila luckily had evaded by covering with his hand. During the evasive action his wrist and palm area had been severely injured and had been admitted to hospital.

He has had several death threats to his life which he had complained to the Police. Several people had earlier followed him to attack him. Kapila had told the Police that he has threats from the Mayor, Municipal Council Member Nimal Lansa and his brother Daya Lansa also a Municipal Council Member of the Negombo Municipal Council.

A very popular TV presenter and a presenter of songs in TV channels is presently faces with a very embarrassing situation as he cannot present his usual TV programmes without his familiar hair ‘wig’ which had been stolen during a clash for a minor offence, he has had with a person while attending to a wedding ceremony in Galle area.
This incident had occurred while an argument had arisen, between the TV Presenter and subsequently a collision had occurred accidently with a person who was attending the wedding ceremony. It had ultimately ended after the clash the TV presenter. The expensive imitation wig had fallen and had been grabbed by someone, most probably by the person with whom he had collided with him, for a minor incidence, who is yet to be identified. This matter has been reportedly, and very reliably and seriously learnt that investigations are carried out to find the lost’ wig’. This had caused the TV presenter in preventing in presenting his usual TV programme owing to the loss of the expensive ‘wig’. The Police with the assistance of Navy personnel are making desperate investigations to find the person who clashed with the TV presenter and robbed the ’wig’ of the TV presenter.
It is reliably learnt that this TV presenter has had some conflicts with the Police on earlier occasions too.

MAHELA & SANGA’S “MINISTRY OF CRAB” BUSINESS NAME IS ILLEGAL-LALITH WEERATUNGA

Mahela and Sanga faces a question about using  “Ministry” name for their “Ministry of Crab” restaurant.


The two of the most prominent cricketers in Sri Lanka, world famous Mahela Jayewardena and Kumar Sangakkara had opened a rare restaurant; a business venture jointly with Dharshan Munidasa. It is housed in the refurbished old Holland Hospital building in the centre of the city of Colombo. It was named and registered as a business enterprise named “Ministry of Crab’ and opened last December. A big legal matter had arisen with regard to the usage of “Ministry’, in the name of the venture already registered as the “Ministry of Crab”.
The restaurant caters to a several types of menu’s , the main dishes sold to be consumed are out of crabs. It has been revealed by the Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga that no business name could attach the name ‘Ministry’ to it. In this connection he had issued instructions to the Western Provincial Council authorities to have the name changed.
This restaurant to date called the “Ministry of Crab” caters exclusively to the affluent and Foreigners, as a dish of crabs costs Rs 2800/- to Rs 5000/- it is reported reliably.

President looks and feels Holyfield’s ear with enthusiasm

Former World’s Heavyweight boxing champion Evander Holyfield visited Sri Lanka, yesterday for a matter of just 12 hours while on transit.
Evander Holyfield was world’s Boxing Heavy Weight champion during the period 1990-1993 and in the year 2000. His closest contender in the year 1997 was controversial fellow boxer Mike Tyson. During this famous fight Mike Tyson used a dirty tactic by biting the right ear of Evander Holyfield during the early part of the much awaited clash. To made him feel mentally down when he bit the right ear of Holyfied causing a big damage to his ear.
Evander Holyfield who visited Sri Lanka during Tsunami period is an American citizen. Out of 57 heavy Weight bout he had won 44 of them. He was considered as the World’s greatest Heavy Weight boxing champion. During his short visit to Sri Lanka he paid a courtesy call to ‘Temple Trees’ to meet President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The President was very much interested in feeling and having a close look at Evander Holyfield’s ear which was badly bitten by Mike Tyson during that famous World Heavy weight boxing clash.

LADY DRIVER FIGHTS WITH TRAFFIC POLICE CONSTABLE FOR CAR KEY

Lady driver battles with traffic police constable for her car key and injures herself:

The discipline of the traffic Police officers should be tolerated and at the same time should also be given due respect to the traffic Police officers by both male and female drivers. A case has been reported from Kandy where a traffic Police constable had fought with lady diver causing her to take treatment from the Kandy General Hospital for minor injuries caused during a collision to grab the car key.
The case is reported from an incident from William Gopallawa main road in Kandy last Saturday. A traffic Police constable attached to the Kandy Police station while on duty had tried to grab the car key of a lady driver who had purportedly parked the car blocking the route of the traffic flow. For this wrong exercise the traffic Police constable had tried to grab the key from the lady driver. During the battle for the key the lady had been admitted to the General Hospital kandy.
Instead of politely requesting the car key from the lady driver, the traffic Police constable had tried to grab it from the lady driver. When the case was reported to the Police, the DIG, Central Province H.N.B. Abanwela had an impartial inquiry and had ordered the traffic police constable to be interdicted, it is reliably reported.

HAT-TRICK of ACCIDENTS AT PAYAGALA

Two push cyclists killed and one motor cyclist injured in a hat-trick of accidents committed by a Minister’s nephew while driving a car after consumption of liquor.
Yesterday at Payagala it has been reported that two push cyclists were killed and motor cyclist was injured when a drunken driver when just like small children playing computer games. The other offence the driver of the vehicle had driven away after the mishaps without stopping.
The drunken driver who was not at all steady at the wheel had knocked down one push cyclist killing him instantaneously. His dead persons push bicycle had been broken into two parts after the impact. After killing the push cyclist the drunken driver who had not stopped had knocked the second push cyclist who after the severe impact had been thrown in the air and had fallen on to galvanised roofing sheet of a neighbouring house and fallen into the house breaking the galvanised sheet and had died instantaneously.
The hat-trick of the accident took place when he had knocked motor cyclists on his way injuring him rather seriously. The vehicle which was driven by the drunken driver had ultimately forced to be stopped when it knocked against a parapet wall a short distant away from the three mishaps.
The two killed were persons from the same locality had been returning to their homes after attending to a funeral house.They were in the ages of 28 and 30 years respectively. The driver had been taken into Police custody with minor injuries. When produced before courts the Magistrate had ordered him to be remanded until the 8th of next month. At the time of the accident another person had travelled in the car. The Police had recovered two bottles of arrack from inside the car.
 It had been told by the neighbours that the person arrested as the driver of the vehicle was not the identical person who drove the vehicle.The person who drove the vehicle had been a 22 year old youngster and is supposed to be the nephew of Minister Rohitha Abeygunawarden. Hence for producing another person instead of the suspected person owes to influence of Politics. It is quite surprising that political influence has been made and it is further proved as that the case had been investigated by the Police officers attached to the Kalutara, Beruwala and Dondangoda Police stations instead of the Police officers of the Wadduwa Police, where the accident occurred.

A LETTER FROM HIRUNIKA, WRITTEN ON BHARATHA’S 56th BIRTHDAY AFTER HIS THIRD MONTH DEATH REMEMBARANCE

It has been three months since Mr. Bharatha Lakshman’s assassination. His daughter, Hirunika has written a letter titled “MY DEAR FATHER” which was published in a number of National newspapers today.
This letter was meant mainly to commemorate her father on his 56th birthday and after three months almsgiving, at the same time revealed some unknown qualities of his character not known to many.

The Pain of mind caused after his sudden loss is unbearable. There are no words to express the sadness I bear in my heart. Even though everybody consoles me that this enormous pain and loneliness will gradually disappear, not a second passes without remembering my father. Everywhere I look, I see the image of my father smiling at me with eyes full of love. Whenever I was hurt or heartbroken I always ran into the arms of my father. His warmth and his consoling words lulled me. It is difficult to make you understand how much I feel the need of my father at this very moment to soothe my heart. I cannot forget the fact that it is Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra, the People’s leader, the Politian, and the Trade Union Leader who has passed away. But how can I forget that it is my dear father who has left us.
Among the memories I have in my distraught mind I see the proud image of my father. The voice which I never thought would be that deep reverberates in my ears. The person whom I used to hug physically can now only be hugged in my imagination.
I have always complained about my father’s busy schedule. When he was not close to me when I needed him the most, I have complained saying that my brother, my mother and myself come second to him. I have told him that he has given his priority to the outsiders.
 My father has dedicated his life not only for us but also for the whole world because of his extraordinary humane qualities. When I used to complain, he would listen silently with a smile on his face and that is the exact image I still see before me. I want to ask him as to why he did not tell us the commitments he made for others. I know that my father did not consider any of my faults as a fault. But I want to tell the world that he was a great man who never neglected his responsibilities towards humanity.
 My friends always told me that I was a lucky daughter. They believed that I have been rewarded for my merits in the past lives to be his daughter. It is only now that I realize the meaning of what they meant. I am truly a lucky daughter to have such a loving father. He sheltered us like a giant tree. He taught us to be independent and to think deeply. What is left today is the young sapling which nurtured under that giant tree. Now I am exposed not only to the sun and the rain but also to storms. Yet, my father had taught me to face everything with strength and peace of mind.  Even though my father was stolen from me, he has gifted me with things that cannot be stolen.
He has given me the wisdom to look deep into life. It was my father who encouraged me to study law. It was one of his dreams to see me as a lawyer speaking for criminal cases. He would have never imagined that my knowledge would be first used to bring justice for him. I am dedicated towards fulfilling my father’s dream even under these very difficult circumstances.
There is one memory of my father which I will never forget. Our home was always crowded with people. Each of them called him “Lucky aiyya”. They were all brothers to my father. He addressed all of them in an endearing manner. One day I called an uncle who worked with him by his name. I cannot recall any other day he got so angry with me. He was not a strict father, but on that day he taught me a valuable lesson. Since his death, he has left me with a group of loving people who have not forgotten us. My father has taught me to be friendly with people and to share their sorrow. Though you are not with us, you have left with us a group of people around us. I have inherited from my father a group of people who are bonded through brotherhood and who share their lives with me. Father, just like you I too will be always with them. I will protect them and I will never betray them. I think that is the best thing I can do for them on behalf of my father.
There is one more incident which recalls how simple my father was. I was dressed to go out and I was complaining about my slippers which were torn and discolored. I asked for a new pair. I remember him ignoring and me and talking to some uncles. I asked for money to buy a new pair of slippers. “Though your slippers are old it does not affect your image. Do not mind about your slippers. If you want a pair of slippers to wear now, take these” he said pointing at his own sandals. I still recall his simplicity.
 I cannot describe the pain I go through when I see on TV the same pair of slippers soaked in his blood beside his dead body. I picture him in the national suit wearing the same pair of slippers and joking around. He was the compass which showed me the right direction. He was the guiding star. He was the light of our lives. But, today I have lost my dear, loving, and great father. I thought that he was the most valuable part of my life. But, now I have realized that he is my whole life.
He never let us bears any pain. Only we know the bitter pain my brother, mother and I feel without him and that cannot be expressed in words. I wish that no daughter should ever face such a fate. Today is the 56th birthday of my father. I miss him more than ever. I wish I could hug and wish him a happy birthday like I have always used to do. I cannot bid farewell to the memory of my dear father.  I wish he would be in every dream I see. May he be my father in all lives to come? May he attain Nibbana!

THE NEXT AMERICAN IDOL: JIM CARREY’S DAUGHTER?

Looks like Jim Carrey has passed the entertainment business on to his daughter based off the performance that she delivered on America Idol last night. Jane will be making it to Hollywood because the judges felt as though she has potential and Jennifer Lopez only had one issue which was that she needs to connect with the audience more.
Last night there were a lot of different performers who were trying out but if Jane is anything like her father we can imagine that she was the one who stood out the most. Fans are patiently waiting until Wednesday night so they can find out what else they have to look forward to when American Idol returns.

As we already discussed Jane Carrey is making a trip to Hollywood…Tracey Morgan is in the hospital…Katy Perry is no longer a follower of Russell Brand on Twitter…and there are still loads of people who can’t hold a tune trying out during the auditions. MAXWELL LUE HAS ARRIVED

The star of A Good Old Fashioned Orgy, Lindsay Sloane, has finally become a good old fashioned mommy. Lindsay Sloane and her husband, Dar Rollins, had a healthy baby girl last Thursday. This is their first child together. They seemed very happy every time they were spotted. Lindsay was seen quite a few times on the red carpet showing off her baby bump. However, the question remains what they did name her. No one has ever referred to the baby girl by a name.
Her name is Maxwell Lue. However, do not expect her to be covered in pink. When Lindsay Sloane was pressed about whether or not she would dress her baby girl up in pink she stated, “Eh. I don’t think so.” She also was asked if she had alternative color preferences. Lindsay Sloane replies stating her baby girl would wear blue if need be.
You may remember Lindsay Sloane from Horrible Bosses and her appearance in Weeds. When she first fit the screen she was playing roles in The Wonder Years. However, we do want to say congratulations to the happy couple. We are sure they will have some wonder years to look back on.

SELENA GOMEZ’S ROLE IN NEW MOVIE

It appears as though Selena Gomez is finally over her good girl image at least when it comes to the television screen. The 19 year old is going to have a part in an upcoming movie that will have all of her fans surprised. It will be nothing like her role played in Wizards of Waverly Place.
Selena Gomez is expected to complete her world tour in South America in about three more weeks. Once she has returned to the States she will be in Florida with the indie filmmaker Harmony Korine. They will be working on the movie Spring Breakers which will also feature, James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens, and Emma Roberts.
The three actresses will play the role of friends who decide to rob the bank in order to pay for their spring-break vacation. Selena Gomez will be playing the role of a character by the name of Faith.
Selena Gomez has indicated that the character she plays is more tamed out of the three. However, she also admits that she does get a little crazy every once in a while. When they are on spring-break the friends get into just about everything. They party, drink, and even go to jail.

Born This Way Foundation Set Up By Lady Gaga

It seems lady Gaga and her mother are bringing a message of tolerance and bravery to people every where. The singing sensation and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, announced on Wednesday that they will officially launch the Born This Way Foundation on February 29th, 2012, at Harvard University’s Sanders Theatre.

The grammy winner will essentially be joined by policy makes, non profit organizations, foundation leaders and youth themselves who are working to create a kinder and braver world.

Her mother told sources that the foundation was conceived out of her passion to create a better world where people are kinder and nicer to one another and are accepted for who they are, regardless of how different they may be. In addition, she said in a statement that her daughter, Lady Gaga has experienced many of the struggles that our youth go through today, and can identify with the lasting effects they can have without proper support. Together, we look forward to creating a new movement that will engage and empower youth and accept them as valuable members of our society.

The foundation will work to explore the best ways to reach youth and create a new culture of kindness, bravery, acceptance and empowerment focusing on issues like self confidence, well being, anti bullying, mentoring, career development, and advocacy.

It was released in Digital 3D, IMAX 3D and 2D theatres on January 20, 2012. What’s Inside: The vampire warrioress Selene, escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species. Wrapping It Up: A typical vampire of the future film but with some bloody action scenes. Kate Beckinsale’s “Selene” remains one-note and brings an impressive physicality and subzero cool to her portrayal of the lead character. Story wise, it is dull and lacking.

Sajid, Jacqueline a couple?

Jacqueline who did an item number for Sajid’s Housefull seems was earlier rumoured to be getting a bit too close to her Aladin co-star Riteish. In fact, it was learnt that the actor had helped her bag her second film Jaane Kahaan Se Aayi Hai.

The two even went to an award function together adding fuel to the gossip fire. However, both actors had maintained that they were nothing more than friends. “You know, it’s you people who cook up all these stories. Before the release of the movie, you will hear stories like this only.

The co-stars dating each other, in our case same thing happened, “ Jacqueline had told the media. The actress was reported to be dating a Prince from Bahrain at that time who later turned out to be not a prince but a rich industrialist who owned a couple of malls in UAE.

However, with recent developments, all such speculations can be put to rest. A source close to Sajid revealed, “Jacqueline and Sajid are in a relationship. In fact, people on the sets of Housefull 2 call her ‘bhabhi’. Every time there was a break, Jacky would just disappear. Initially, people on the sets thought that she must have gone somewhere with Riteish since the two of them were rumoured to have had an affair earlier. But Riteish would be around reading his script. The crew soon discovered that whenever Jacqueline disappeared the director too vanished. It was only then people realised that they were seeing each other.”

Did Gauri snub Priyanka?

Following incessant rumours of Shah Rukh Khan’s link-up with co-star Priyanka Chopra, Gauri Khan has reportedly been ignoring the latter at many public events.

Sources say that during the recently held Zee Cine Awards in Macau, Gauri snubbed Priyanka openly. The actress had flown straight to Macau from Dubai (where she promoted ‘Agneepath’) and once she reached there, she got down to rehearsing for her awards act right away.

Insiders reveal that Priyanka, who was hosting the awards with Shah Rukh, rehearsed with him from nine in the night to six in the morning. Both were accompanied by their sets of friends and Shah Rukh had Gauri for company too.

Seeing Shiamak Davar who was choreographing the entire act and giving instructions to his dancers, Gauri went up to him to say hello. When Gauri came on stage Priyanka walked up to her and greeted her but was shocked when the former completely ignored her. Apparently, she just stood there with her hands to her back and continued talking to Shiamak.

But if Priyanka was flustered by the rejection, she didn’t show it at all and continued with her rehearsals with Shah Rukh.

Dinamina typing mistake makes the President a “DICTATOR”

In today’s Dinamina, 27th newspaper published by the Lake House, predominantly a Government supported paper, in a letter published under ‘Political Solitude’; it had been mistakenly published as President a ‘DICTATOR’. Since this is more or less a biased paper published by the ‘Lake House’ had astonished many readers.
One person by name ‘Raman’ had published the letter under ‘Isolated Political fights’ had emphasised on Free Mass Media Association protests which had been barred by anti Governmental elements. It had been published on page 6 of today’s Dinamina paper. The letter published in the internet is as below:

The student protests too have been harshly dealt with the Governmental Higher officials give instructions to the armed forces to stop and curb their protests processions. They all have to be more flexible when taking action. It has been said that at these instances the Government should act in a more flexible manner. The President should advise those who try to break the freedom of the protesters to be more flexible and to commence talks for amicable settlements to their matters which do have certain matters that could be settled through negotiations which ultimately lead to violent protests by having processions.

DILSHAN OUT -MAHELA IN

I saw several varied stories in newspaper articles- So I resigned from captaincy—DILSHAN.

I took over the captaincy as the team’s morale was at low ebb. That is why I took over the captaincy. That too only for a period of one calendar year-MAHELA.

The first press conference after Mahela was elected as the new captain was held yesterday. I could not refuse a request made by the SLC on behalf of the Sri Lankan cricket team who needed my leadership. I gave up the captaincy not with any intention of regaining it again. No one influenced me to accept the leadership decision, quipped Mahela.
“ After the ICC World Cup 2011 I resigned from the vice captaincy reigns as myintention was a youngster to be groomed into my place. According to the present situation a novice cannot be entrusted with the captaincy reigns. Thinking purely on it I consented to take over the captaincy. I discussed with the new selection panel that I would take over under the condition that it would be only for a period of only one year. I said I will be 35 years old in a few months and to remain in a side one has to perform well consistently I do not like to remain in the side if I cannot perform consistently. That is the reason for accepting the captaincy for only a period of one year. We should  from now onwards must find the most suitable person to take over captaincy reigns. We all accept defeat as a team. We lost the England Test series 1-0 and the ODI series by a margin 3-2.World’s best team India lost to England in Tests by a margin 4-0. India to date has lost to Australia in Tests by a margin 3-0.with the remainder Test also on verge of defeat. What we failed to perform was in all three departments of the game. Hence the % of losses was very high.”

The former skipper Tillakaratna also spoke and his version was as follows:

“I was appointed captain only for the South African tour. Before the tour ended there were many speculations with regard to captaincy issues in the media which were read by me. Hence I decided to resign from the captaincy with immediate effect at the conclusion of the tour. However if the new selection committee decides and requests me to continue I am prepared to carry on.
Owing to pressure from the selection committee I decided to tender my resignation as the captain. During the past we have won with new younger players in the team. I was appointed captain with several new players in the team. They have on numerous occasions guided our team to victories. If I was appointed captain for the Australian tour I had the confidence to do well.
The new selection committee had elected Mahela as the new captain. I will give my fullest support to the team”
The Tri nation tour involving India , Sri Lanka and hosts Australia is due to begin on 5th of February. To participate in this Tri nation tournament the Sri Lankan team comprising of a squad of 15 is due take wing ‘Down Under’ tonight the 27th.Some

SPEED WELGAMA

I am not a disciplined person. I break laws. The driver who topped the fastest speed on the newly built Southern Express Highway was me

The Minister of transport Kumar Welgama confessed that he not all a disciplined person. Anyone who sees may observe this quality of mine. He had told at a function that he had driven a vehicle at high speed after drinks and had gone over a boutique damaging it and his vehicle had toppled.
He is the person who had travelled at the fastest speed at the newly built Southern Highway breaking all speed limits at a speed of 180 KMP. The fastest speed limit on this new highway is only 100 KMP. He disclosed. I am not a disciplined driver......When your good selves see me you will see my undisciplined attitude devoid of proper discipline. I love to drive fast. I created a record speed on the new Highway.
